Frequently Asked Questions

CTR = (clicks ÷ impressions) × 100, expressed as a percentage. For example, 250 clicks from 10,000 impressions gives a CTR of 2.5%.
It varies enormously by channel and context — a strong search result CTR might be 3 to 5%, while a well-performing display ad might see well under 1%, and email campaigns often see 15% or higher. Compare CTR against your own past performance or direct competitors in the same channel rather than a single universal benchmark.
Not necessarily on its own — a high CTR with a low conversion rate afterward can mean the traffic is curious but not genuinely interested, or that the listing over-promises relative to what the page delivers. CTR is best read alongside conversion rate and other metrics, not in isolation.
